Or a flex-office that advocates an absence of permanent desks? But have you actually tried it out?<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Or what about a War Room? Or corpoworking? Actually, you\u2019re not far off the mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The War Room is a direct reference to Winston Churchill\u2019s war cabinet. During the Second World War, it was in the War Room that major military decisions were made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The table in the War Room was piled high with maps and military situation reports.<br><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>But now the war is well and truly won, the term \u2018War Room\u2019 has been resurrected and dusted off to designate a room where <strong>ideas will be pored over<\/strong> and<strong> important decisions taken<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another era, perhaps \u2013 but the same concept: the modern War Room is still designed to <strong>share information<\/strong> and make analyses aimed at responding <strong>strategically <\/strong>to whatever the urgent issue of the day happens to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns has-2-columns\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column\">\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3>A War Room definitely needs to be corporate so that it can convey the functional identity of the company.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>It will feature lots of <strong>digital screens<\/strong>, <strong>whiteboards<\/strong>, a Post-it wall and cameras to enable a maximum amount of <strong>feedback<\/strong>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A \u2018<strong>Lab<\/strong>\u2019, as in \u2018laboratory\u2019, is a space that invites <strong>teams<\/strong> to come up with ideas and test solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lab is dedicated to thinking and needs to be <strong>welcoming<\/strong> (a moveable space to be configured to suit teams and perhaps have a micro-grandstand, footstools, etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also needs to be <strong>practical <\/strong>(with writing walls). The word is a contraction of \u2018corporate\u2019 and \u2018coworking\u2019 and is designed to create a space for discussion and <strong>exchanges<\/strong> within the company itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In terms of fit-out, corpoworking needs to be a workspace that is totally <strong>open<\/strong> and <strong>modular<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018<strong>Workboxes<\/strong>\u2019 are small meeting areas that can be inserted into an open plan office.
